The campaign comes as part of the Sport Relief mile, an event that has raised millions to help working children across the world, including in South America.

Sport Relief mile supports working children

Support for working children across the world has received a boost thanks to Sport Relief’s 2006 campaign.

The charity successfully urged celebrities, politicans and the general public to run a mile on July 15 in order to raise money to help children living in tough conditions.

World Day against Child Labour 2006

Every June the International Labour Organisation (ILO) calls on people worldwide to reflect for a day on the fate of working children.

This year the World Day against Child Labour on June 12 fell as the World Cup was in full swing, and organisers added a football flavour to proceedings.
