Latin American music and dance in aid of CENIT

On June 24-25 2006, London’s Institute of Contemporary Arts will be filled with the sights and sounds of Latin America.
Hosted by UK-based charitable organisation Discovering Latin America (DLA), the 2nd Rhythms of Latin America Festival of Music and Dance will feature live performances, dance workshops and more.
The event promises to be a great day out for people of all ages, and most importantly all proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the Centre for the Working Girl (CENIT) in Quito, via Sonrisa.
The organisers of the festival aim to bring a little of the continent’s rich culture to Britain’s capital and they hope it will be a great excuse for a celebration.
“The Rhythms festival is a rare opportunity to experience beats from across Latin America, and all under one roof,” says Maria Jose Subiela of DLA.
“Rhythms of Latin America goes way beyond the entertainment you expect from a music festival, it is a chance for us to open up and share our culture so educational workshops and dance classes are core to our festival,” she adds.
Sonrisa is enormously grateful to DLA for choosing to donate its profits to CENIT and we hope to see all Sonrisa/CENIT supporters there.
More information is available from DLA’s website.
You can buy tickets in advance from the Institute of Contemporary Arts. Tickets will also be available for purchase on the day.
Don’t miss it!
